An Interview with Tiffini
Poet
If you had to use one word to describe yourself, what would it be?
Mother
Which of your characters do you most resemble?
This is tricky because, while there are parts of me in most of my characters, I'm very different from most of my female characters. I'd like to say I'm most like Aria, of the novel I'm working on, Faith. She has the kind of spirit I've always been envious of.
What are you most proud of, in regards to writing?
The fact that people can buy my books! My books, I mean, how crazy is that?! But I am also very proud that I am the one who designed the books: the cover art of both were photos I took. In fact, my oldest daughter, upon seeing Me said, "That's Sophie" because she recognized the doll in the photo as hers!
A lot of your books revolve around abuse. Why?
I am fascinated with trying to understand the different ways in which children overcome horrific trauma. I also have some personal experience with it.. Writing is and always has been therapeutic to me: they say we process information during dreaming but, for me, I do it during writing
If you could have one dinner with 5 famous people, dead or alive, who would they be?
Mother Teresa, David Copperfield (I'd con him into telling me how he made me disappear!), Faulkner, Oscar Schindler and Oprah
